No arrival card
Since 16 October 2024, visitors don't complete arrival or departure cards at Hong Kong immigration. There is no online form to replace them.
Visa-free stays
Hong Kong's Immigration Department lists 180 days for British citizens and 90 days for citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and each EU country. Indian nationals can visit for 14 days visa-free after completing the free online pre-arrival registration (PAR).
Taiwan residents
Taiwan residents can register online before arrival, free of charge. A registration is valid for two months and two entries, each for up to 30 days. Print the notification slip on blank A4 paper and show it with your travel document.
Local SIM cards need registration
Every local SIM, prepaid tourist cards included, has to be registered before it works. Visitors without a Hong Kong ID card register with their passport; Hong Kong SAR and BN(O) passports aren't accepted for this. A travel eSIM from abroad roams on local networks and isn't registered in Hong Kong.
Data when you land
Install a Hong Kong eSIM before you fly. Hong Kong, Macao and mainland China are covered separately; for all three, pick a plan that lists each one.
