Most Western passports visit Mexico without a visa. Flying in, there's no paper FMM any more; arriving by land, you fill it in online.

    Who needs a visa

Citizens of the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore don't need one. The immigration officer decides how long you can stay, up to 180 days, and it's shown on your entry record. Mainland Chinese, Indian and Taiwanese passports need a Mexican visa unless you hold a valid visa from the US, Canada, Japan, the UK or a Schengen country, or permanent residence in one of them.

    The FMM tourist form

    1. Flying in: Mexico's immigration institute (INM) no longer issues a paper FMM. After immigration you can download the digital FMM once, by scanning the QR code at the checkpoint or on inm.gob.mx.
    2. Arriving by land: fill in the FMM online before you cross.

    Data when you land

Many US and Canadian phone plans include Mexico with a cap; if yours doesn't, or you need more, install a Mexico eSIM before you fly.
