Single-country or regional eSIM: compare your whole trip
A regional plan can simplify border crossings; separate country plans can offer different prices and networks. Neither option is always cheaper.

Write down every stop
Include each place where you need mobile data and how long you will stay. A plan labelled Europe or Asia is not a promise to cover every country in that region. Use its country list, especially for stopovers and territories.
The trip planner compares covered destinations with separate purchases. Its results use total-data plans and require validity for the full trip; check its stated assumptions before treating the result as your personal cheapest option.
Compare like with like
- Coverage: every required stop must appear in the plan’s list. An attractive price does not replace missing coverage.
- Data: compare a shared trip allowance with the sum of separate allowances. Daily allowances and total allowances have different limits.
- Validity: consider both duration and the start event. A country plan bought early may expire before that part of the trip.
- Service: check operators, speed after the allowance, app restrictions and any information you need about hotspot.
A worked example without live-price claims
Suppose two country plans cost USD 4 and USD 6, while a regional option costs USD 9. That only makes the regional option better value if its allowance and validity meet both stops. These are illustrative amounts, not current Simvito offers.
If the first country gets 3 GB and the second gets 1 GB with separate plans, a shared 2 GB regional plan is not an equivalent replacement. Likewise, a longer regional plan may be worthwhile even when its headline price is higher.
Allow for changing lines
Separate plans mean keeping track of which profile is selected for data at each stop. Keep the profiles labelled and follow each start rule. A regional plan avoids that swap, but network selection and coverage can still change at the border.
Before buying, confirm your device can store the profiles and use the required lines. Do not delete an active Simvito profile to make room without checking with support.
Review the actual options
Start with the trip planner, open the suggested products and check their full details. If you are visiting one country, also check related regional offers on its destination page: a broader plan can sometimes cost less.
Base the decision on the final purchase total, selected currency and usable coverage—not a daily starting price compared with a whole-trip price.
