Install a travel eSIM on iPhone
Keep the order email open on another screen and your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi. Check the plan’s start rule before installing.

Before you scan
Confirm your exact model and purchase region on the device compatibility page. Carrier lock and regional restrictions can prevent installation even when the model name looks compatible.
If the plan starts on installation, wait until you are ready to use it. For mainland-China iPhones that support eSIM, Apple says a non-mainland eSIM must be installed outside mainland China with Location Services enabled.
Add the profile
- Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM, then choose Use QR Code. Menu labels vary by iOS language and version.
- Scan the QR code from your Simvito order email or account, then follow the on-screen download prompts. Use the manual details only if they are supplied with your order.
- Name the new line “Simvito” or your destination so you can distinguish it from your home line.
Choose which line uses data
At the destination, enable the travel line and choose it for Cellular Data. Enable data roaming on that line when the order instructions require it. Turn off data roaming on your home line and automatic cellular-data switching to reduce accidental use of home data.
Keep your usual number for calls and texts if needed. Those services still follow your home carrier’s roaming charges; keeping a SIM active does not make calls free.
Check before leaving Wi-Fi
Briefly switch off Wi-Fi and load a small webpage. If data does not work, check the selected data line, destination coverage and the plan’s validity before changing anything else.
Do not delete the profile to retry. Simvito QR codes are for one installation; contact support if the phone says the code is already used or installation fails. You can retrieve your order from your account.
