Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC): free, within 3 days, official site only
Every foreign visitor fills in the TDAC online in the three days before arriving in Thailand, by air, land or sea. It's free on tdac.immigration.go.th.

Who fills it in
Since 1 May 2025, all foreign nationals entering Thailand complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card, including tourists, business travellers and long-term residents. It replaced the paper TM.6 card and isn't a visa.
Thai embassies list two exceptions: travellers transiting or transferring without passing through immigration, and people entering with a Border Pass.
When and where
Register within the three days before you arrive, on the Immigration Bureau's site, tdac.immigration.go.th. Enter the details in English. Crossing overland from Malaysia? You fill it in too.
Sites that charge are not official
In March 2026 Thailand's Immigration Bureau warned that at least 10% of foreign arrivals had used look-alike TDAC sites unconnected to it, some charging a fee. Registration is free; a site that asks for money isn't the Immigration Bureau.
How long you can stay
From 15 September 2026, British passport holders entering visa-free can stay up to 30 days, for tourism only. Visa-free entries over land borders are normally limited to two a calendar year. Officers may ask to see at least 10,000 baht per person and an onward or return ticket, and overstaying costs 500 baht a day, up to 20,000.
Other passports were affected by the same change, but published lists differ on which countries are included. Check with the Thai embassy where you live before booking a longer stay.
Data when you land
Keep a screenshot of the TDAC confirmation in case the airport Wi-Fi is slow. Install a Thailand eSIM before you fly; most plans only start counting when they first connect in Thailand.
