UAE entry: visa on arrival, passport validity and tourist SIMs
Many visitors to the UAE get a free visa stamped on arrival, with nothing to apply for in advance. Some passports, including Taiwan's, need a visa arranged before travel.

Visa on arrival
British, American, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean and most EU citizens get a free visit visa on arrival. The UK Foreign Office says British citizens can stay up to 90 days in a 180-day period from first entry, and don't need to apply in advance. Mainland Chinese ordinary passports are visa-exempt.
Passports that apply in advance
Taiwan passports aren't on the on-arrival list; arrange a visa through your airline or a sponsor in the UAE before you fly. Indian passports qualify for a visa on arrival only with certain other visas or residence permits; check the current conditions with the airline or the UAE authorities.
Passport validity
Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.
Tourist SIMs
e& and du sell visitor lines at the airport, registered with your passport, up to two per operator. e& advertises a free visitor line with 10GB for 24 hours. A UAE eSIM installed before you fly needs no registration and works when you land.
