eSIM installed but no internet: a troubleshooting checklist

Keep the eSIM profile installed. Start with the checks below; deleting it can turn a connection problem into a code that cannot be installed again.

Separate installation from connection

If there is no travel profile in your SIM settings, the download may not have completed. Use Wi-Fi, check your model and sales region, and record the exact installation error. A code marked used needs support, not another scan on a different phone.

If the profile is present but has no internet, continue below. A travel plan may not connect outside its covered destinations, so a test at home is not a reliable test of destination service.

Check the order first

  1. Confirm you are in a covered destination and the plan has not expired. Check whether validity starts on purchase, installation or first connection.
  2. Check remaining data and the post-allowance rule. Some plans stop data; others continue at a lower speed. A slow connection is not always an activation fault.
  3. Look at any listed app restrictions. Test a basic webpage as well as the app that fails; one blocked app does not establish that all data is unavailable.

Check the phone settings

  1. Enable the travel SIM and select it as the mobile-data line. Turn off Wi-Fi briefly for the test.
  2. Use the roaming setting specified in the order instructions. Keep home-line data roaming off.
  3. Start with automatic network selection. If support asks you to select a network manually, use only an operator shown for your specific plan.
  4. If an APN is supplied in the order, match it exactly. Do not copy an APN from an unrelated destination or provider.

Retry once, then keep the evidence

Turn Airplane Mode on and then off, or restart the phone, then allow it time to register again. If it still fails, move to a place with better reception where practical.

Send support your order number, device model, purchase region, current destination, error wording and screenshots of the selected line and network. Keep QR codes and activation codes out of public posts. Do not reset or delete the profile unless support has agreed a recovery plan.
