Choosing an eSIM for Singapore

These 104 plans use M1, Singtel, and StarHub; a plan that lists two connects to whichever has signal. Singapore's fourth network, SIMBA, isn't on any of them. In Opensignal's July 2026 Singapore report (April to June data), Singtel won Best Network and StarHub had the fastest overall download speeds.

13 plans state that traffic exits in Singapore, so sites and apps see a Singapore IP address; 55 state an exit in Indonesia or Hong Kong. It's under “IP exit” in each plan's details.

Another 36 don't state an exit.

Singapore's operators also sell their own tourist SIMs and eSIMs (StarHub's started at S$12 in April 2026), registered with your passport. If you're only in Singapore and want a big allowance, they're worth a look. Plans here let you choose the network; for Johor Bahru, a Malaysia & Singapore plan works on both sides of the Causeway, where a Singapore-only plan doesn't.

Every visitor, including those arriving over the Causeway, submits the free SG Arrival Card within three days before arriving. See SG Arrival Card.

Singapore eSIM networks compared

Singapore plans here use 3 local networks: StarHub, M1, and Singtel. Some plans stay on one network; others list several and connect to whichever has signal.

  • StarHub 4G 57 plans · 57 on this network only · Per day / Total data
  • M1 5G 47 plans · Per day / Total data
  • Singtel 5G 47 plans · Per day / Total data

Signal depends on where you are. For a specific place, check the operator’s coverage map.

About eSIMs for Singapore

Do I need a Singapore phone number?

Most travellers don't. Whether a plan includes a local number is in its details; the operators' tourist SIMs come with a Singapore number for calls and verification codes.

Will it work in Johor Bahru?

Only if the plan covers Malaysia. Singapore plans cover Singapore only, so for a day trip choose a Malaysia & Singapore plan. Malaysia has its own arrival card, the MDAC, which Singapore citizens don't need.

Which operators will my phone use in Singapore?

M1, Singtel, StarHub. Which one you connect to depends on local signal.

Is 5G supported?

Yes. Operators here are listed with 4G / 5G; each plan's networks show which.

What happens when the data runs out?

It depends on the plan: some keep a usable speed of 1 Mbps / 5 Mbps; others drop to 128 Kbps / 384 Kbps / 500 Kbps / 512 Kbps, which is enough for messaging; others stop data.

When does the validity start?

It starts when the eSIM first connects to a network. You can install it before you go.

Can I use a hotspot to share data in Singapore?

60 of these plans state personal hotspot support, so you can share data with a laptop or travel companions. It comes out of this eSIM’s allowance. Look for “Personal hotspot” in the plan details.

Can I install the same eSIM on a second phone?

No. Each QR code installs once. If you delete the eSIM or reset the phone, it can't be installed again, and once it has connected to a network it can't be refunded.

Can I top up data or extend validity?

Some plans add data, some add days, and some can't be topped up; each plan says which. Top up from the eSIM in My eSIMs. There's nothing new to install.

Are these prices tax inclusive?

Yes. The listed price is the final price.
